How I came to be a Rasmussen

Here we go... buckle your seatbelts. This is long.

1. Where did you meet your spouse?
Well, we met in junior high. Tyler says that I branded him. Here goes the story to that accusation. We were sitting in class one day and he says that he was just sitting there minding his own business (yah right, he was too rambunctious to just be sitting there). He says that I rubbed my pen on my folder until it got really hot and then put it on his hand. I don't remember doing this, but he is very adament that it was me....and since I remember rubbing pens on my folders with my friends, I think that he could be right. (But, I still don't remember doing it to anyone that was seemingly innocent).

2. What was the first thing you said to your spouse?
Let's fast forward a few years...mimi's cafe 2002. We passed as I was leaving and he was walking in. I think I said "hey, how are you?"

3. Where was your first date?
We kind of just hung out for the first couple times. I don't really remember what we did on our first "official" date.

4. Where was your first kiss?
It was on my parents couch.

5. Did you have a long or short courtship/engagement?
We started dating in June. Got engaged in November and married in January. About 7 months...that is pretty short I would say. But, some things you just know are right.

6. Where did you get engaged?
We got engaged at the restaurant Baci's in Salt Lake. Tyler had gone down earlier and set everything up. He told me that we were going to go to dinner with some friends that he wanted me to meet. When we got there he got a text message and told me that his friends were not going to make it. We ate dinner and then the waiter asked if we wanted dessert. I usually don't go for the dessert, but this time I said "sure let's look at the dessert". So the waiter brought out this huge dessert tray and I was looking at all the yummy stuff when I noticed this shiny heart on one of the desserts. I looked closer and it said 'Bonnie will you marry me' and there was a ring next to it. Tyler then got down on one knee and popped the question.

7. Where were you married?
Salt Lake Temple, January 2003

8. How did your reception go?
It was fun.

9. Where was the Honeymoon?
We went on a cruise to the mexican riviera. It was so fun. Tyler got the best elvis impersonator and we won a bottle of wine. We ended up giving the wine to some friends that we met on the cruise. We met a couple on the cruise that got married the same day we did, at the same place.... only they were in their 80's.

10. If you could have changed anything about your day what would it have been?
I would have done my reception somewhere else. And not done the luncheon at the same place as the reception. It got chaotic.

hApPy BiRtHdAy SaDiE!!

Today is Sadie's birthday! She turned the big '3' today. We are having a birthday party tonight with all her friends. I will post pictures tomorrow of the shin dig.

birthday flowers from grandma

Grandma Rasmussen had these cute flowers and balloon sent to her today! Very cute!

your never too old to go toilet papering!

Tyler had a big test this morning, but he still found time to toilet paper Sadie's room before she woke up. When I put her down for her nap today (yes, even on her birthday), she didn't want me to take the toilet paper down. I am so glad that Sadie and Parker have a dad that does silly things like this!

**parker in his track suit**

laundry time

Parker was so funny playing in this laundry basket. He was pulling himself up and standing in it and then it would fall over and he would laugh. It is amazing how a laundry basket could be so much fun!

parker

Parker standing by himself.....ok, not quite by himself...he has a little help from the couch. He is getting so big, so fast!
Sadie loves to feed Parker.

gorilla

This gorilla was so funny. He would just stare at Sadie and then turn his back at her and look at her from the corner of his eye. I think he was flirting a little....

sadie & parker

It is so nice now that Parker is getting older and can play with Sadie a little better. They really have so much fun laughing at each other and playing.

I love this picture! This is Sadie and her friend Riley at the Omaha Zoo.

Parker just hangin' out in the stroller.

Looking at the tigers!

This tiger just had a little cub. It was so cute! (it is right under the wood).

I'm just chillin'.
