So...the dog had to go

Well, we thought long and hard about this decision and ultimately we decided that we needed to get rid of the dog. When I posted last, I had a feeling that this post was coming.

He is such a good dog (for being a puppy) and really was so cute, but he is a puppy and he was chewing up the kids toys and eating their food and I couldn't lay Ella down anywhere because he would try to play with her and by playing I mean jumping on her and licking her whole face..etc. She thought it was funny the first couple times and then she realized that it was in fact...really annoying.

I already feel like I have my hands full and I am not ready for a puppy. Sadie actually was fine when we told her we needed to give him away. She said that it would be good to get one when she's a little older. So that's what we'll do. We bought her a prince barbie which she has been wanting for a while now..so all is good. :)

It is funny though because we just took him to his new owners and we are all kind of sad...I think that Tyler is taking it the hardest!

When our kids are out of the potty training stage and they are a little older...we'll think about getting another dog.

mEEt jAck

He is the newest member of our family I think for good. We got him on Saturday. I have moments when I am not so sure that it is going to last...and then I see Sadie with him and realize that it is a good thing that we have him. He is a Jackapoo (jack russell terrier/poodle mix). He is 4 1/2 months old, but I feel like I have another 2 year old, potty trained and sleeps pretty well through the night in his kennel. He is such a good dog, although he still is a puppy so he is a little naughty. Parker is not too fond of him jumping up and stealing his food right out of his hands and we have only had to throw aw
ay 2 toys. Not bad. The little guy is starting to grow on me.
I just hope that my next post wont be titled "the dog had to go". Stay tuned and I will let you know how it goes with 3 kids and a pup.

last week

At the library this month, they are doing the Cinderella puppet show. Sadie & Vivian dressed up in their princess dresses to go see it.
Ella-Parker & Santiago waiting for the big show
side note: while we were driving home from the library, someone smashed into my car from behind. It was scary because I had all my kids with me. We are all fine. Our car unfortunately wasn't totaled :), but the lady that hit me, her car was.

more dress ups.

when was the last time you played four square?...

...maybe 5th or 6th grade?

a week ago for us and yes it was just adults! I didn't realize how competitive we could get at just a little game of four square.

the kids (& kim) had their own four square going on next to us

Parker and his buddy Santiago played in the water and dirt for quite a while yesterday. I love that he is such a BOY!

oh yes we did!

Friday was cow appreciation day at where else...CHIK FIL A! We dressed up as cows to get our free combo meal. It was so great! We had so much food and it was all FREE! Oh the things we will do just for a free grilled chicken sandwich with honey bbq sauce. You wouldn't believe how excited Sadie was to dress up as a cow and go to dinner. She said..."but why do we need free food?". It made me laugh. It was all for the fun!

red***white***blue

We had a great 4th of July, except for the fact that it started to rain a couple hours before fireworks so they pretty much canceled them.  Sadie was bummed!
It was perfect weather during the day.  We barbecued and swam with some of our good friends and then went to Pei Wei for dinner.  It was awesome because for the first time ever (ok not really the first time, but very rarely does this happen) we didn't have to force our kids to eat all their dinner which consisted of chicken and rice, crab won tons and a lot of veggies.  It was actually fun to go out to dinner with all of our kids.  Imagine that.  Then we went to the park where they were supposed to do awesome fireworks didn't happen and then we rented Bedtime Stories.  Sadie and Parker both sat and watched the whole thing all the way through.
It was a cute show.
Hope ya'll had a great 4th of July!!
