Christmas in Omaha

We spent Christmas in Omaha because we did not want the stress of traveling with kids and a brand new baby. Staying home for Christmas is way overrated! I was missing family and the weather hasn't been that great here, but if we were to do it over...we would not do it any different. Spending time with Tyler has been great and it hasn't been stressful like it usually is when we travel. We actually have been having fun now that we have had a few warmer days and I am feeling good enough to go out and about.

Christmas was fun with Sadie...ok and Parker too. He actually did not really care too much about opening presents and stuff. He opened one toy and then was done. He didn't care about his stocking and what goodies were inside. I guess it is just his age?! It was cute watching them play with all their toys when all the presents were opened and put together. I love having kids...especially at Christmas. They bring so much joy and happiness!!

We put out cookies and milk for Santa and he accidentally left some of his beard behind on the cup and plate. Sadie thought it was so cool! We kept saying...isn't that kind of gross? And she would say no. She was way excited about it!

Christmas Eve. They opened up their Christmas pajamas.

our stockings

One afternoon, Tyler received a call and they asked if he would go get a package at their door since they were out of town. When I saw Tyler coming back...this is what I saw. I could not believe that he went out like this...I guess when no one in your neighborhood is home, it doesn't matter too much what you go out looking like. I guess I don't have too much room to talk...I go out all the time in my pajamas and no makeup on with all my neighbors home.

Sadie cuddled.....

and cuddled.....

and cuddled.....

and cuddled Ella. It is her favorite thing to do!

Parker got in on it too. He loves to cuddle her almost as much as Sadie. His attention span is way too short to sit and cuddle though.

Sadie loves to read books to Parker when he is going to bed. She always says..."I need to go read my boy some books." It is pretty cute!

snow time!

It has been snowing here like crazy! Tyler and Sadie have been going sledding everyday...they are actually out there again as I am blogging this. Parker does not like to get out in the cold, so he has been staying home with me. It is way cold...I don't blame him for wanting to be inside.

Ella Kate

We welcomed Ella Kate into the world on December 11. She weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz.
Beside the fact that I felt contractions for a little bit, everything went great! It went just about the same as Sadie's delivery....I went from a 5 to a 10 so fast that the medication in the epidural wore off and I could feel my contractions for awhile. Not the most pleasant feeling in the world....it is actually one of the worst pains. So they called the anesthesiologist to give me a really strong dose of medication and called my doctor. When the anesthesiologist came in he said "ok let's turn you over on your back" and the nurse freaked out and said "do not touch her...if you move her, that baby is going to slip right out". So anyway, the doctor got there and I was really numb which was great. I pushed for 5 minutes...2 contractions and she was here. We feel so blessed to have her in our family. She is such a good baby. She has been sleeping good and everything. I haven't felt too overwhelmed yet...but my mom just left today, so we will see how it goes.

Sadie and Parker have been so good with her. It is so wonderful to have 3 healthy, amazing children that we love and cannot get enough of.

Sadie loves to hold her non stop and she just kisses her all day long. She tells me at least 50 times a day how much she loves her and how much she loves to kiss her. It is so cute!

Sadie was laying with Ella and they fell asleep. They napped for 2 hours together. Very cute!!

I wasn't quite sure how Parker was going to do with a new baby around because over the past couple weeks he has been really clingy to me and kind of grumpy. But he has done so good! It really has surprised us. He doesn't care one bit that she is here. He also kisses on her all day and is so sweet to her.

I have such a sweet husband that brought me roses at the hospital.

This hooter hider is the first of my many projects I hope to do. I was really proud of myself for making this. I made it in about 2 hours...it was so simple!
