a few updates

There is a new bridge here in downtown Omaha that they just finished building that goes across the Missouri River. It is actually a really cool bridge. Tyler is excited about it because it leads to 100 miles of biking trails. We went up yesterday after conference to check it out.

I gave Parker some ice cream and forgot to take away his bowl from lunch. When I looked over he had both spoons in his hands and he was eating the noodles with the ice cream. Sounds grose to me...but whatever.

This is kind of sad. Tyler and Spencer have been working so hard on this garden for about 6 months now. Weeding, cutting down trees, building fences to keep out the critters...they have done a lot. They were really excited for the watermelons and we had like 15 of them. They were growing so big and we were just waiting to cut one open. Well, the other day we did and it was so delicious...ok, not really. It was actually all yellow inside and horrible. Anyway, in the couple days to follow there was a raccoon that sneaked his way into our garden and dug out all the insides of the watermelons. What a little devil!! So now we don't have any watermelons. But that is ok I guess. Our garden has produced a lot of other yummy stuff that we have been able to enjoy. :)

We went to the rodeo last week with some of our friends.

just a thought....

My mom came out to visit last week and we had so much fun hiking and walking to the gardens and SHOPPING! I just wanted to say thanks to my mom for all of her help and for everything that she does for me and my family. My kids love being with her...she is such a great grandma. You are the BEST!! I love you mom!

girls day out

Yesterday Sadie and I went on a girls day out with some our good friends, Lisa Stanley and her little girl Kaydee, Lisa Stephenson and Ava & Mandy and Scarlett. We went to Disney on Ice and it was so much fun!! The kids loved it and actually the moms loved it too. At one point there was music on and Kaydee and Sadie were dancing and Lisa and I started dancing and we look over and both our girls are just staring at us like....how embarrassing is this! We started laughing so hard. Afterward we went out to lunch. It was really fun. I enjoyed spending time with just Sadie. Tyler did not want to go so he offered to stay home with Parker. Here are some pictures of our day.

slipin' n slidin'

For Labor Day we thought it would be fun to make a slip and slide. So, Jon and Dan went to Home Depot and bought a 100 ft. plastic something....I'm not quite sure what it is called but we went across the street and put it down this big hill. Tyler hooked a bunch of hoses together so that it would reach across the street and then those that went down lathered up in dish soap so that they would go faster. It was hilarious to watch everyone go down. They brought a little raft over and so I decided that it didn't seem to dangerous me for, being pregnant, to do it on the raft. I had Sadie sitting in front of me between my legs and Jenny was on the back. We were going slow at first and then we got going pretty fast. My foot went through the plastic a couple times and made holes in it and I am pretty sure that was when I got this humongous bruise on my leg. The bruise makes it look a lot more dangerous than it really was. Actually everyone had bruises and scrapes all over their bodies. But they all went down on their stomachs and backs. I think that I can speak for all of them and say that it was all worth it. (I don't think that I would do it again though). Sadie and Parker both went down and Olivia, Brad and Jackis's little girl went down too with her dad. She wasn't very happy about it. Sadie went down by herself a few times on her bum...I was impressed.
Here are some pictures and videos of the fun day.

eeww!!

Tyler and Spencer were up at the garden cutting down a branch that was covering our watermelons. Tyler was up in the tree cutting while Spencer was on the ground helping. This was what showed up on is leg (and arms) the next day. He has been in a lot of pain....I don't know why guys have to wait until they are almost dead before they will go to the doctor. He finally went in to the doctor 2 days ago and they gave him a steroid shot and some medication. The doc said that it was poison oak. It actually got a lot worse than this. This picture was taken about 3 days before he went to the doctor. Yuck!! Hopefully it will start feeling better soon!

Offutt Air show

We went to the air show at Offutt Air Force Base on Saturday and despite the HOT weather, it was so much fun. Sadie and Parker had such a good time sitting in the airplanes and cars. Sadie's favorite was the fire department smoke house. It was a trailer that they turned into a little house and they teach the kids how to get out of the house if there is a fire and smoke all around. They had fake smoke and everything. She had to walk on her hands and knees to the top floor and then they climb down a latter. I thought that it was so funny that she loved it. She did it 3 times. They also had blow up toys which was where we spent most of our time. While Sadie and Parker played we watched the air show and ate famous dave's bbq pork sandwiches. It was a fun day!

jackson hole camping

We went to Jackson Hole Wyoming to run the Snake river and to camp with my mom and dad, Thomas's, Waldron's and Eric, Packer's, Opfar's, Pack's and Green's. It was so much fun. We left Parker home with Tyler's parents and took Sadie. She loved it. It was her first time down a river with rapids. (We floated down the Provo river a couple years ago, but that doesn't really count). It was such a great trip and we are so glad that we were able to go. Thanks Deb and John for letting us sleep in your motor home. It was great!
I will post some pictures of the rapids and cliff jumping as soon as I get them.

sadie fishing

Sadie went fishing with Tyler and her uncle Jas and G&G Ras up at Brighton. She caught a fish and then Tyler grilled it that night and they ate it. She said that she liked to fish, but she didn't like to eat it.

parker is fearless

So the story behind this video is...Parker got up on this coffee table and decided that he wanted to jump off. His favorite thing to do is get up on things and jump off. He doesn't care how high it is, in fact the higher the better in his eyes. It is terrifying sometimes. So when he jumped off the coffee table he kind of fell on his face on the carpet and cried a little and then he climbed right back up and jumped off again. He fell on his face again and cried a little and then we thought that he had learned his lesson...that if he jumps off this table he is going to get hurt. But that didn't happen, he got back up to jump and so I decided that he would get really hurt if I didn't put down some blankets and pillows because he wasn't stopping. He jumped off for probably 10 minutes. It was pretty funny how much fun he was having.

raging waters

We went to raging waters with my mom & debbie and her kids. It was so fun for the kids. I couldn't do a whole lot, but I did love the wave pool. I also did a tube slide, but it was pretty small. It was a really fun day with the fam.

john mayer concert

We went to see John Mayer at the Usana and it was so much fun! Colbie Caillat opened for him. She was good, but there are only like 2 songs that I knew of hers. It was such a fun night and we seriously laughed the whole night. I love being with my mom and sisters!
